The Decision Making & Negotiations CDA supports Columbia Business School’s excellence — and extends it — by supporting connections between scholars as well as between researchers, practitioners, and the world at large. Basic functions of the CDA include:
- Building the faculty, including hiring tenured and tenure-track faculty members who will build our ability to produce leading scholarship on decision making and negotiations;
- Facilitating research, including selectively funding research that advances scholarship on decision making and negotiations and bridges academic divisions and disciplines;
- Supporting teaching, including the development of teaching materials and courses in our MBA, Executive MBA and Executive Education programs;
- Extending outreach, including connecting our scholars to the larger academic community (e.g., through conferences), fostering connections between researchers and relevant practitioners (e.g., through roundtables), and raising the visibility of and promoting access to our scholarship and expertise (e.g., through working paper dissemination, press releases, etc.);
- Coordinating with other relevant units, including the Center for the Decision Sciences, the Behavioral Research Lab, and the Leadership Lab
