Kalash Jain joined Columbia University in 2023. His research examines how informational and institutional frictions – such as gaps in financial statements, misaligned incentives, and reliance on rigid classification systems – shape how markets process information and how firms respond. He received his PhD, MBA, and BA from the University of Chicago. Prior to pursuing his graduate studies, he was an investment banking analyst in Citi's Financial Strategy and Solutions Group.
