Andrew F. Barth ’85

Andrew “Andy” F. Barth is the former chairman of Capital Guardian Trust Company. Prior to his retirement from the firm in 2017, he was responsible for managing investment grade credit fixed-income accounts.

Mr. Barth joined the Capital Group Companies in 1985 after earning an MBA from Columbia Business School. He graduated from Columbia College summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.

Mr. Barth is based in Los Angeles. His civic duties include serving on the boards of trustees of American Ballet Theatre; the Center for the Study of the Presidency and Congress; the California Science Center Foundation; the Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens; and Columbia University.
