Filippo de Vecchi ’95
Filippo de Vecchi is currently pursuing private equity investments through his own investment vehicle, Fedeclama HK Limited.
Filippo retired from Advent International in 2021 after 22 years carried out across 4 offices in three continents: Latin America, Europe and more recently Asia. He started his career at Advent in the São Paulo office, before moving to Milan in 2002 where he led the firm’s transactions in the business services sector. His latest assignment at Advent was to carry out the set-up of the firm’s operations in China, including opening the offices in Shanghai and in Hong Kong, hiring the team (deal team, operating partners and portfolio support) and leading the transactions, portfolio management and exit processes. This process lasted a decade from 2011 till 2021 and brought Advent International to one of the leading private equity funds in China. Transactions where Filippo was involved while at Advent included Bioduro, King Koil/Serta China, The Learning Lab, Gruppo Argenta, Venere and Atrium Telecom.
Before joining Advent, Filippo was a senior consultant with Value Partners in São Paulo and Milan, where he focused on strategy and organization within the automotive, energy, cable, and media sectors. He began his career at Wasserstein Perella & Co., working as an analyst in the Mergers and Acquisitions department in London and New York.
Filippo holds an undergraduate degree cum laude in economics, with a major in business administration, from the Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali (LUISS) Guido Carli in Rome, Italy, and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
Filippo currently serves on the board of Columbia Business School and is a member of the Global Advisory Board of the Chazen Institute.
