Phil Mendoza

Phil Mendoza is the Executive Director in the Office of Academic Records and Registration. Phil is responsible for the strategic oversight, management and implementation of the operational and administrative activities of the Office, with an overarching goal of creating consistent policies, procedures, and standards across all degree-granting programs. Previously, Phil worked as the Director of Records and Registration in the Office of Student Affairs where he was responsible for Bidding & Registration, Graduation Clearances, and Grades & Academic Standards Compliance. Prior to joining the Business School in January 2004, Phil worked for Columbia University's School of General Studies as the Assistant Dean of Students, as an Advising Dean at Columbia College and The Fu Foundation School of Engineering & Applied Science, and an Academic Adviser/Retention Specialist at the Academic Success Center of the Bronx Community College, The City University of New York (Part-Time). He holds a B.S. from the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance at Ithaca College, a Master of Library Science from Queens College, the City University of New York, and an M.S. from Columbia University School of Social Work. Phil is an avid hip-hop and R&B music collector who owns over 3,000 vinyl, tape, and CD vinyl formats. He is proficient at speaking and reading Spanish.
