Suhail Sikhtian '96
Suhail is chairman of Investment Banking and global head of the Natural Resources Group. He is a member of the Investment Banking Operating Committee and the Investment Banking Executive Committee.
Suhail joined Goldman Sachs in 1998 as an associate in the Energy and Power Group in New York, where he focused on mergers, acquisitions and financings for the firm’s energy clients. He transferred to London in 2005 to cover European Energy clients and subsequently set up the firm’s presence in the Middle East and North Africa and was head of Investment Banking for those regions. Suhail was also co-head of the Financial Sponsors Group in EMEA before relocating to Houston in 2011 to become co-head of Energy and head of the Houston office. In 2014 he was named co-head of the Natural Resources Group and sole global head in 2020. Suhail was named managing director in 2004 and partner in 2008.
Prior to joining the firm, Suhail worked at Schlumberger and at JP Morgan.
Suhail serves on the Board of Visitors of MD Anderson Cancer Center and is a member of the National Petroleum Council.
Suhail earned a BS in Engineering from Baylor University and an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Columbia University.
