Robert Swigert
Robert Swigert is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Business in the Economics Division. His research and writing focus on macroeconomics, macro finance, portfolio choice, corporate finance, and asset pricing.
His career in investment management began in Trading and Operations at Bridgewater Associates, followed by roles in operations research and technology management. He later co-founded and served as Chief Strategist for the M&A advisory firm Lincoln Square Advisors. Subsequently, as a Principal at a family office, he sourced and evaluated life sciences investments with an emphasis on computational drug discovery, infectious disease, and digital health. He also headed Finance for Cityblock Health, an Alphabet portfolio company incubated by Sidewalk Labs that operates at the intersection of health insurance and AI-informed care delivery.
Currently, Prof. Swigert is the General Partner of Tyr Partners LP, a registered investment and commodity trading advisor. The firm designs efficient portfolios for foundations, endowments, and family offices, utilizing passive, liquid investments to emulate alternative and ESG strategies. He is also the co-founder and CEO of Goodstead Co., a mobile-first investment advisor focused on making sustainable investing accessible, tax-efficient, and risk-optimized for everyday investors.
Prof. Swigert holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, an MFA from Columbia University (where he was a Writing Division Fellow), and a BA in Classical Philology from New York University, where he was awarded the Gallatin Scholarship and the Founder’s Day Award, and was a Dean's Circle Scholar.
