Professor Sangmin (Simon) Oh joined Columbia Business School in 2024. He received his Ph.D. from the Joint Program of Financial Economics at the University of Chicago, and holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering and B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Finance from the University of Pennsylvania.
His research is broadly within economics and finance, focusing on asset pricing, investments, and insurance markets. In his recent work, he examines the role of ultra high net worth (UHNW) households in asset markets and the impact of state-level regulation on homeowners insurance markets. Prior to his academic career, he worked at AQR Capital Management and Forefront Capital Management.
