Abstract
This article examines the financing options available to a company issuing shares on the international capital market. The most important components of the global capital market are examined, with particular attention being paid to the opportunities and difficulties that arise for first-time issuers. The markets examined include the main stock market investment areas (bonds, equity and hybrid securities) in Europe and the USA as well as trade and project financing. The article concludes with an outline of entry strategies for first-time issuers based on the experiences of successful, globally active issuers.
