Brad Sims
Brad joined New York City FC as Chief Executive Officer in January 2019. Sims is responsible for all aspects of the organization on a day-to-day basis. His tenure has been highlighted by significant revenue growth, the development of Etihad Park, New York City’s first-ever soccer specific stadium in Willets Point, Queens, and winning the 2021 MLS Cup Championship.
Sims joined New York City FC after six years with the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers where he served as Executive Vice President of Franchise Operations & Chief Revenue Officer. In that role, he was responsible for managing all primary areas of revenue for the Cavaliers and Quicken Loans Arena as well as all business operations for Cavs Operating Company franchise properties (AHL Cleveland Monsters, NBA G-League Canton Charge and NBA2K Cavs Legion GC). During Sims’ time in Cleveland, the Cavaliers set numerous revenue records and appeared in four consecutive NBA Finals, winning the franchise’s first ever NBA Championship in 2016.
Prior to his time in Cleveland, Sims spent four years at the NBA League Office in New York City serving as Vice President of Team Business Development, Team Marketing & Business Operations. In that role, Sims worked closely with NBA, WNBA and NBA G-League teams to provide strategic direction.
Known within the industry for his creativity and leadership, Sims has 25+ years of sports industry experience and is a 2015 Sports Business Journal 40 Under 40 honoree, as well as a Leaders Global Under 40 Award winner.
