Charlie Velie `25

Charlie Velie is a Vice President based in H.I.G. Capital’s Boston office, where he helps lead transactions from idea generation through negotiation and closing, as well as directly involved post-closing operational management and value-creation implementation.

Prior to joining H.I.G. Capital, Charlie worked at a Dallas-based industrials-focused private equity fund where he deployed, managed, and monetized capital across a wide range of industries including plastics distribution, manufacturing, environmental services, automotive supply chain, and equipment rental, among others.
Charlie earned a B.A. in Finance from Southern Methodist University and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.

The CBS network was critical to my post-MBA recruiting efforts. In addition, the class work was highly relevant, and I believe I am better prepared because of Columbia, the PE program, and the field study lab offerings.
