Renee Hackenmiller-Paradis leads sustainable chemistry at lululemon, where she drives initiatives that reduce the environmental and health impacts of apparel manufacturing and shapes strategies adopted across the industry. She serves on the board of ZDHC, helping to eliminate hazardous substances from global supply chains, and advises the Safer Chemicals Impact Fund (SCIF), advancing science-based solutions to scale safer alternatives.  

Renee’s career spans industry, government, NGOs, and academia, giving her a uniquely holistic perspective on sustainability and chemical management. She holds a B.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology (University of Washington), a Master of Public Health (Portland State University), and a Ph.D. in Genetics (University of Chicago). She is passionate about using science, strategy, and collaboration to transform the apparel and footwear industry toward a safer, more sustainable future.
