Jorge Guzman is the Gantcher Associate Professor of Business at Columbia University. He joined Columbia in 2018 after receiving an MBA and a PhD from MIT. At Columbia, Professor Guzman introduced a new elective, Entrepreneurial Strategy, where students understand the elements of competitive advantage for startups, and the skills that support that. His research focuses on understanding the nature of entrepreneurial ecosystems and how can the entrepreneurial economy support be inclusive for more regions in the U.S. and elsewhere. Guzman is also a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) in the Entrepreneurship Working Group.
