Salvatore Galatioto is the President and Founder of GSP.  He has extensive experience working with professional sports teams in a financial capacity.  Prior to forming GSP in 2005, he was Managing Director and head of Lehman Brothers’ Sports Advisory & Finance Group, which was founded upon his joining that firm in 2001.  The Sports Advisory & Finance Group was responsible for all corporate financing and advisory functions related to the sports industry.  Prior to joining Lehman Brothers, Mr. Galatioto was Managing Director and head of SG Cowen Securities Corporation’s Sports Advisory Group.  (SG Cowen was a wholly owned subsidiary of Société Générale.)  Over more than two decades, he has overseen engagements as financial advisor, arranger and agent for more than 80 consummated transactions across the four major North American professional sports leagues, including many within MLB.  During his career, he has earned numerous accolades for his work and commitment to the industry.  In June 2010, he was crowned “the King of Sports M&A” by Bloomberg Businessweek.  In December 2010, he was named one of the “50 Most Influential People in Sports Business” by the Sports Business Journal.  His presence within the industry makes him a frequent speaker at conferences for high net worth investors, such as the Family Office Roundtable, the Family Office Association Summit and Tiger 21 conferences.  This year he was named one of Sports Business Journal’s six “Champions: Pioneers & Innovators in Sports Business” and was honored at April’s World Congress of Sports.

Mr. Galatioto holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Thunderbird School of Global Management with distinction and high honors and a Masters of International Relations with honors from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.  He graduated magna cum laude from Hunter College with a B.A. in History and in 2009 was voted into the Hunter College Hall of Fame.  He also serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
