Demonstrating the reach of the alumni network, members of Columbia Business School’s Board of Overseers hosted nearly one hundred MBA students over the course of the annual Take a Student to Breakfast program.
Participating board members ranged from Lewis Frankfort ’69, chairman and CEO of Coach, Inc., and Paul Guenther ’64, chairman of the New York Philharmonic, to Sallie Krawcheck ’92, CFO of Citigroup, Inc., and Daniele Bodini ’72, chairman of American Continental Properties Group. The program provides an opportunity for the January-entry students, who continue their studies in the summer and do not work internships, to network with alumni leaders in their field of interest over breakfast or lunch. Selected by lottery, students were paired according to their career goals and interests with leaders in such industries as marketing, arts, media, real estate and finance.
Additional board member hosts included Robert Friedman ’80, president of Classic Media, Inc.: Golden Books/Harvey Entertainment; R. Bradford Evans ’70, managing director at Morgan Stanley; and Lulu Wang ’83, CEO of Tupelo Capital Management, Inc.
The School’s Board of Overseers comprises more than 80 men and women representing 14 countries who lead companies spanning the world. The members play an active role in the School’s strategic planning, curriculum development, career placement and student advising, and they are committed to solidifying Columbia Business School’s position as an international leader in graduate business education.
