Ford Thompson `27

Private Equity Fellow Class of 2027
Private Equity Program
Ford Thompson Headshot

Ford Thompson `27 is an MBA candidate at Columbia Business School focused on private equity, with five years at Morgan Stanley in fixed income and treasury, where I built a strong grounding in credit, rates, and balance sheet risk. At Queens Court Capital, Ford led execution on live deals across healthcare and specialty finance and built an AI-powered sourcing engine. I’m seeking full-time roles at operationally focused middle-market PE firms.

I came to CBS from Morgan Stanley to pursue lower-middle-market investing, and spent my first semester running an independent search across fragmented service industries, including insurance, pet services, and generator maintenance, mapping target landscapes, underwriting unit economics, and building operator networks to source deals. That work made me fluent in building roll-up theses and led directly to my role at Queens Court Capital, where I now develop new platform ideas and lead execution on live deals, alongside the PE Field Study and serving as AVP of the Private Equity Club.
