Ama Peiris
Ama Peiris has led operations and programming across four continents within philanthropy, the United Nations, U.S. policy think tanks, and academia.
Most recently, at the Aga Khan Foundation UK, Ama managed partnerships for Schools2030, a multimillion-dollar portfolio for a holistic education program across 10 countries, and secured long-term funding from a diverse donor consortium. She has worked across the UN system: designing gender-sensitive programs for four South Asian countries at the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and managing high-level events at the Sri Lankan Mission to the United Nations in New York.
Previously, at America Achieves, a US policy think tank, she produced research that informed inclusive workforce policy. Ama holds a Master’s in International Education Policy from Harvard University, where she also directed Harvard’s second-largest student-led conference on poverty and inequality.
