FT Chong
FT Chong is a private capital innovator with more than 35 years of senior leadership and investment experience — forming and leading investment platforms across private equity, structured capital, private credit, and specialty finance. In 2026 (after PineBridge Investments was acquired by MetLife) he founded ONTLG LLC, a private capital firm pursuing investment opportunities and innovative investment strategies, especially in areas being fundamentally transformed by artificial intelligence.
Investor: As Head of Private Capital at PineBridge Investments, FT led teams that raised, deployed, and realized more than $3.3 billion across 105 middle-market companies through private equity, structured capital and mezzanine investments. He served as lead director or board member at numerous portfolio companies, including FreshDirect, Knowledge Universe, AZ Automotive, Covenant Healthcare, and PhysicianOne Urgent Care. He also spearheaded the formation of PineBridge’s Private Credit platform, which now manages more than $6 billion in assets.
Executive Leader: As a member of the original senior leadership team at PineBridge Investments (formerly, AIG’s Global Investment Group) —AUM of $215 billion as of 3Q, 2025 — FT orchestrated the growth in the firm’s Private Capital area, successfully raising new funds with commitments from institutional investors in the US, Europe, the Middle-East, and Asia. He chaired Investment Committees across multiple funds and provided senior oversight of investment teams. His responsibilities spanned fund governance, LP relations, and portfolio strategy.
Intrapreneur: FT has a proven “serial intrapreneur” record of building enterprises within major institutions even prior to PineBridge. In his earlier career at Swiss Bank Corp (now UBS), FT launched and scaled three business units — specialty lease financing, asset-backed receivables financing and leveraged loans — of which the latter two grew into a multi-billion-dollar units. He also served a family-owned Asian conglomerate during the 1990s, where among other initiatives he launched the first mutual fund in Indonesia.
FT holds an MBA from Columbia Business School. He is a Chemical Engineer by training and began his professional career as a process engineer at Motorola (Communications). He grew up in Malaysia and is based in New York City. He is a Ruling Elder in the Presbyterian Church in America and he currently serves on the Investment Committee of the United Methodist Foundation of New England.
