Michelle V. Hall
With a rich and diverse background in education, Michelle Hall brings three decades of experience to her current role as the Managing Director of the Samberg Institute for Teaching Excellence. Her journey began in secondary education before transitioning to prominent roles at Columbia University, where she spent seventeen years contributing to the Center for New Media Teaching and Learning and the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL).
Michelle has been a guiding force, offering cross-campus leadership and strategic direction in instructional design services, technology platforms, and educator development. Her influence has been instrumental in shaping the educational landscape for faculty and academic departments.
Michelle earned her M.A. in Computing and Education from Teachers College, reflecting her commitment to the intersection of technology and education. Beyond her impactful roles in higher education, Michelle's dedication extends to global advocacy. She proudly serves as the co-chair of the Board of Directors of Global Doctors for Choice (GDC), an international network of physicians championing access to safe, comprehensive, evidence-based reproductive health care. In addition to her co-chair responsibilities, Michelle generously volunteers her time to support GDC's training and communications activities, showcasing her unwavering commitment to making a positive impact on a global scale.
