Program For Financial Studies Channel

Two new real estate elective courses will be offered in the Spring 2010 semester – Real Estate Development and Real Estate M&A and Restructuring Deal Workshop. Additionally, Real Estate Fundamentals, taught by Executive in Residence M. Leanne Lachman, will be offered in Summer 2010. This course offers January start students the opportunity to take a real estate elective course during their second term. 

Chris Browne, of the illustrious value investing firm Tweedy Browne, passed away on December 13th from a heart attack. He was a valued contributor to the Heilbrunn Center and to the Value Investing Program at Columbia Business School. Browne was a long time advisor to the Heilbrunn Center and was always supportive of the idea of an academic center for the value investing approach.

Less than two weeks after a 9.0-magnitude earthquake struck Japan, three Columbia University professors shared their expertise as part of the university event, “The Economic, Health, and Political Consequences of Japan’s Earthquake.”
