Angela Lee is the Franklin Pitcher Johnson Jr. Professor of Professional Practice at Columbia Business School, where she teaches venture capital, leadership, personal finance, and strategy. She serves as Faculty Director of the Eugene Lang Entrepreneurship Center and previously served as Chief Innovation Officer of Columbia Business School.
Angela brings more than 20 years of investing, entrepreneurship, strategy, and innovation experience to the classroom. She is the founder of 37 Angels, an angel investment network that has evaluated more than 20,000 startups and invested in more than 120 companies. She has developed deep expertise in early-stage company evaluation and investment decision-making across sectors, with particular depth in digital health and future of work. She is also a Venture Partner at Fresco Capital, a VC firm investing in the future of work, healthcare and wellness, and sustainability. Earlier in her career, Angela worked in product management and strategy consulting, specializing in healthcare and organizational strategy at McKinsey & Company, and co-founded several companies.
Angela is a sought-after voice on venture capital, entrepreneurship, and innovation. She has spoken at the White House and NASA and has appeared on CNBC, Bloomberg, MSNBC, Fox Business, and NPR, with her insights also featured in The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. She received the Dean's Award for Teaching Excellence at Columbia Business School in 2020 and 2025 and the Singhvi Prize for Scholarship in the Classroom from the graduating class of 2022.
Angela received her BA from the University of California, Berkeley, and her MBA from Columbia Business School.
