Columbia Business School’s Professor Stephan Meier wrote for Harvard Business Review about the disconnect between leaders’ expectations for AI adoption and employees’ actual feelings toward new technologies. Drawing on behavioral research, Meier explained that while executives often assume workers are energized by AI tools, many employees feel anxious, uncertain, or overwhelmed. He emphasized that successful integration of AI requires understanding these psychological barriers, fostering transparency, and involving employees early in the process so organizations can build trust and improve technology uptake.
