Pierre Yared, a Columbia Business School economist, is quoted in this Project Syndicate piece, “The OECD Should Be Reclaimed, Not Abandoned” (October 1, 2026). Yared, writing with Kim Ruhl, argues that the OECD has strayed from its core mission of coordinating economic policy among the US and its allies and that the US should use its influence within the organization to refocus its work on economics and national security rather than abandoning it.
