From:
Columbia Business School Dean Emeritus Glenn Hubbard spoke with The New York Times reporter Tony Romm about the economic risks posed by former President Donald Trump’s aggressive and punitive policy proposals. Hubbard warned that frequent threats of intervention, price controls, or retaliatory measures can create significant uncertainty for businesses, discouraging investment and long-term planning. Rather than lowering prices, he argued, such approaches risk disrupting supply chains, weakening confidence, and ultimately producing the opposite of their intended effect.
