Recognizing Extraordinary Leaders
The 46th Annual Awards Dinner is invitation-only to CBS Board members, honorees, and their guests recognizing the achievements of exceptional leaders in business. This year, we are delighted to present our Distinguished Leader in Business award to Lulu C. Wang '83, Founder and CEO of Tupelo Capital Management, and our Early Achievement award to Ryan Petersen '08, Founder and CEO of Flexport, Partner at Founders Fund. Additionally, we will honor Yuzaburo Mogi ’61, Honorary CEO and Chairman, Kikkoman Corporation, with our Lifetime Achievement award. The event will be co-chaired by Ann F. Kaplan ’77, Partner, Circle Wealth Management, and Russell L. Carson ’67, Chairman, The Carson Family Charitable Trust. It is our great pleasure to pay tribute to the School, provide future support to the student body, and recognize this year’s honorees.
Honorees and Co-Chairs
Lulu C. Wang is the CEO and Chair of Tupelo Capital Management, which she founded in 1998. Prior to that, Ms. Wang was a director and executive vice president of Jennison Associates Capital Corporation for 10 years. While at Jennison, she managed major funds for endowments, pensions and mutual funds. Before joining Jennison Associates in 1988, she served as senior vice president and managing director at Equitable Capital Management, responsible for portfolio management, research, and trading of public equities.
Ryan Petersen is the Founder and CEO of Flexport, a leader in global supply chain technology. In 2022, companies of all sizes – from emerging brands to Fortune 500s – used Flexport technology to move more than $26 billion of merchandise.
Yuzaburo Mogi is Honorary CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kikkoman Corporation. Kikkoman, the world’s leading producer of soy sauce, opened its first US plant in Walworth, Wisconsin in 1973 and its second US plant in Folsom, California in 1998. It also has plants in Singapore, Taiwan, the Netherlands, China and Brazil. Mr. Mogi joined the company in 1958 and he was appointed to the position of President and CEO in 1995, and Chairman and CEO in 2004. He has taken up his present position in 2011.
Ann Kaplan is a partner of Circle Wealth Management, a registered financial advisory firm providing investment solutions to individuals, families, and non-profit organizations. She is also the chair and founder of Circle Financial Group, a wealth management membership group for women.
Ms. Kaplan was previously a general partner of Goldman, Sachs & Co. where she served as the head of the municipal bond department.
