As the CEO, I shape the strategic direction of our company.
How did you become interested in Healthcare? What drew you in?
I became a physician 36 years ago.
What do you enjoy most about your career or positon?
It is a pleasure to see young people totally engaged in what they are doing - soaking up new information and new skills like sponges.
How has your CBS experience influenced your career?
Networking is #1. #2 and #3 are Networking...
What is your favorite CBS memory, such as a favorite professor, spot on campus, or social event?
No one favorite, but the camaraderie that was evident at our monthly trips to London or NYC was very important to me.
As a leader in healthcare, what qualities do you look for when hiring new MBA graduates?
Excitement about their role in our company, work ethic, communication skills. The latter is extremely important.
What would you say to a prospective student considering CBS and the HPM Program?
Columbia (and NYC) can't be beat!
