Until recently, NVIDIA was best known for its dominant role in the PC gaming market. The company held a commanding share in the market for discrete graphics processing units (GPUs), traditionally used for intensive tasks like video editing and gaming.

Now, emerging markets, notably the booming AI market, have embraced NVIDIA's GPUs to power their technology.

In this fireside chat with Dean Costis Maglaras, captured during an event held last October at Columbia Business School's Manhattanville campus, Huang discusses the outlook for the AI industry and offers advice for future tech leaders.

He emphasizes the importance of strategic thinking, deep expertise in your craft, and making choices guided by passion and expertise rather than a need to supplant rivals.

Huang also stresses the ability to endure pain and suffering on your journey.

The event was organized by the School's Technology Initiative and the Silfen Leadership & Strategy Series.
