The CEA is a group of leading economists who advise the President on economic policy, providing objective analysis and recommendations on a wide range of issues, including employment, economic growth, trade, and financial stability. The Council plays a crucial role in shaping policies that impact businesses, households, and the overall U.S. economy.

Professor Yared is a distinguished macroeconomist whose research focuses on macroeconomic policy and political economy. His work has been widely published in leading academic journals, and he serves as a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Economic Club of New York.

In addition to his research, Professor Yared has been a dedicated leader at Columbia Business School. We thank Pierre for over 5 years of outstanding service in the Dean’s Office, both as Vice Dean for Executive Education and as Senior Vice Dean for Faculty Affairs. He also teaches the core MBA course Global Economic Environment, for which he received the Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence.

“I am deeply honored to serve as a member of the CEA, and I look forward to using my economics training to advance policies that support greater prosperity for all Americans,” said Professor Yared.

We congratulate Professor Yared on this prestigious appointment.
