Zvezdan Vukanovic
Dr. Zvezdan Vukanovic is Associate Director for International Media at the Columbia Institute for Tele-Information. He also serves as a Member of the Executive Board of the International Media Management Academic Association (IMMAA). He is an Associate Professor at University Canada West, currently recognized as the largest private university in Canada by student enrollment. Previously, he held a postdoctoral research position at the Marshall McLuhan Center for Media Culture and Technology, Faculty of Information, University of Toronto.
Dr. Vukanovic has served as Associate Professor at both Canadian University Dubai and Abu Dhabi University. He is the author, co-author, editor, or co-editor of 17 academic books published by leading international publishers such as Routledge and Springer, as well as 82 book chapters and numerous peer-reviewed journal articles in the fields of media management and media economics. His work has appeared in prominent journals including the International Journal of Media Management and the Journal of Media Business Studies.
He has delivered 25 invited keynote lectures at prestigious institutions such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), University of Toronto, University of Westminster (London), and Fordham University, among others. In addition, he has organized or co-organized over 50 international conferences spanning topics such as media management, media economics, media policy and regulation, media business strategy, mergers and acquisitions, technological innovation, and industry competition.
His research interests center on the exponential development of artificial intelligence and its transformative impact on (a) restructuring information market asymmetries;(b) transforming scalable sectors such as media, software, internet platforms, semiconductors, telecommunications, e-commerce, and quantum computing; and (c) accelerating innovation cycles and product life-cycle dynamics.
Dr. Vukanovic is the principal author and editor of the International Who’s Who in Media Economics, Media Management, and Internet Media Economics Research. He also serves as a peer reviewer for several leading academic journals and publishers, including Springer Science+Business Media, Journal of Digital Media & Policy, Convergence: The International Journal of Research into New Media Technologies, New Media & Society, Management Communication Quarterly, Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly, and the Journal of Media Economics.
