One of the biggest hurdles to promoting CBS thought leadership is getting the information from each of you to our Strategic Communications, PR and Marketing teams. To address this issue, we have created a database into which faculty can enter research-related successes and information about how their scholarship is having an impact. Entries are automatically sent to the aforementioned teams and to the Dean’s Office. Entries will also be featured in our new monthly research bulletin.
The School wants to know not just about research articles and books that you’ve authored but about grants, awards, industry events in which you participate, public speaking engagement, etc. Basically, we want to learn about and track information pertaining to the myriad of ways in which our faculty are having an impact.
How Does This Work?
- Whenever you have something notable to report, click on this link: CBS Research Success Survey
- You will be asked to identify yourself, indicate the contribution you are reporting (e.g., research article, industry presentation, etc.), provide a link associated with the contribution, briefly describe the contribution is and why it matters. It should take no more than a few minutes.
- Lastly, it asks you to indicate in which promotional channels you would be comfortable having your success featured (e.g., CBS website, social media, Ideas at Work, etc.)
- Once you submit an entry, the information is automatically sent to the people at the school who should be informed of your success.
Keep in mind that there will be a more permanent solution to this problem after we launch our new website but, for now, we would like to see if this system improves our performance on the research-promotion front.
We will share this link with the divisional admins and post it to the research section of the faculty governance page. If you lose it, you can always email any of us and request it.
We plan to send an email once a month encouraging you to enter developments into the database but we would love it if faculty got into the habit of making entries whenever they have an accomplishment worth sharing. Thank you and please let us know if you have questions.
