As a Columbia Business School student, you have access to the University's Columbia U Secure wireless network by connecting using your UNI (fl1234) and password. You will need to accept a security certificate, as with any other secured/encrypted wireless network which requires authentication.
Columbia U Secure wireless is available inside and outside most buildings throughout Columbia's Morningside and Manhattanville campuses. The below instructions will help you complete your connection. You have the option of connecting multiple personal devices, however, depending on the settings and configuration of your device(s), these instructions may vary:
Mobile Devices (Tablets and Smartphones)
iOS (Apple iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch)
Secure Wi-Fi networks are password protected and have by their names.
- From your Home screen, go to Settings > Wi-Fi, and make sure Wi-Fi is turned on
- Tap Columbia U Secure then enter your UNI (fl1234) and password, then tap Join
- Trust the radius.cc.columbia.edu certificate
- (issued by InCommon RSA Server CA)
If you're having trouble connecting, first ensure that your password is correct (ex. launch a new incognito/private browser window and login to any CBS service), try manually configuring your device using the Wireless Client Configuration Site or try resetting your password, then try again.
Android
Since Android is different across some devices, your menu options may vary slightly depending on the version of Android that you are running. Learn how to check your Android version.
- From the Home screen, go to Apps > Settings
- Under "Connections" tap Wi-Fi and ensure that it's turned on
- Tap Columbia U Secure then enter:
EAP method: PEAP
CA certificate: Don't validate
Identity: UNI (fl1234)
Password: Your UNI password
then tap Connect - Once successfully joined, "Connected" shows under the network name.

Laptops
Personal
These instructions describe the basic steps for connecting to Columbia U Secure on your personal laptop.
- Select the Columbia U Secure from the list of available wireless networks
- Enter your UNI (fl1234) and password, then press OK or Join
- At the prompt to accept the certificate, press Connect or Continue

Corporate
Most corporate users who are connected to a domain and/or normal users with certain authentication restrictions in place may need to manually configure their device using the Wireless Client Configuration Site in order to access the University's secure network.
