On-Site Assistance
For Events
To request technical on-site assistance, loaner equipment, freelance services or other items not available in the classroom, please use use the CBS Club and Event management system called CampusGroups.
You can expect a reply within one week at most from when the request is made. (Please note that requests made less than two business days in advance cannot be guaranteed, and requests placed less than one business day ahead of an event must be confirmed in person or by calling (212) 854-3695.)
For Scheduled Classes
Faculty can request on-site assistance from a Multimedia technician when necessary. On-site assistance should be requested at least two business days in advance by emailing [email protected]. In your request, please be sure to include the following information:
- Building and Room Number.
- A description of the assistance needed (ex. Zoom configuration, PowerPoint assistance, Microphone tutorial, etc.). Please be as specific as possible.
- Course name or code.
- Time you want the technician to arrive.
- Time that the class begins.
- Contact information of any surrogates (Teaching Assistants, etc.)
Training
Video Conferencing Support
MMG can assist with your video conferencing in CBS classrooms and conference rooms. All classrooms and conference rooms are equipped with video camera and microphones that integrate with various platforms. Additionally, speakerphones are available in most conference rooms.
While we do provide support with multiple video conferencing platforms, we highly recommend Zoom to meet your conferencing needs. Not familiar with the platform? Please explore and test Zoom by visiting their test site.
Zoom accounts are available at no cost on their site. Basic account doesn’t meet your needs? No problem! Please contact us to discuss your options including any of the non-Basic account options.

Equipment Loans
MMG can provide multimedia equipment loans on a short-term basis. Equipment is available to pick up in SC101. Stop by or contact us in advance for availability.

Zoom Webinar enables the streaming of large meetings as an add-on to your Zoom subscription. Zoom Webinar enables the meeting of 3000 participants to meet in a panel format. After the event is complete, Zoom Webinar provides enhanced reporting to help gauge event engagement.

Zoom Free

Zoom Free is the standard video conferencing software given to all that join CBS. Some will have elevated subscriptions depending on their role. Zoom free provides video conferencing capabilities on the web or on mobile devices. Zoom free allows for meetings with up to 100 participants for a maximum of 40 minutes. Zoom Free includes engagement tools such as public and private chat.
