Alumni Lifetime Email Forwarding Delivery Issue

Due to an issue with database server, ITG and CUIT will perform emergency maintenance which will cause alumni email forwarding to be unavailable for a brief window. Emails sent to alumni LifetimeIDs will bounce, and the sender will receive a notification. Maintenance will start at 1:30pm 8/1/2021 and is projected to last approximately 45 minutes. As you may be aware from the news, a significant security flaw has been identified in Microsoft Windows printing that requires immediate attention. This exploit has the potential for an attacker to severely compromise a machine. Microsoft has released security updates to address this vulnerability, so CUIT and ITG are taking every precaution to ensure the safety of our infrastructure by installing these updates. Early Morning Campus Power Outage

Earlier this morning, parts of campus experienced a power outage.  While core IT services remained available and unaffected, it's possible that individual desktop computers would not have turned back on when power was restored.  Most CBS services like Office, Canvas, Zoom and so forth are available directly without needing to connect to an on campus desktop, and in many cases resources like PQRS can be accessed directly from home if you first connect to the CU VPN.  Instructions for that are available here (

Ricoh Printers – Scanning Maintenance and Migration

On Thursday January 30th, the feature on CBS Ricoh multi-function printers which allows for scanning documents to a shared folder on the S: drive will be taken offline for maintenance at around 10am.  Scanning to email, USB, and all other printing/copying functions will be unaffected by this change.  The migration work is expected to be completed no later than 2pm and the service should function as normal afterwards. At approximately 3pm this afternoon we started to experience intermittent issues with accessing CBS hosted sites as well as our Single Sign On (SSO) application. This also affected access to externally hosted services from on campus as well. Steps were immediate taken to lessen the impact of the network issue. As of 5pm, all service were once again available.   We are currently working on replacing the faulty equipment to ensure stability. We will continue to closely monitor the network to ensure it is working as expected during this process.
