Microsoft Skype for Business
Columbia Business School's implementation of Microsoft Skype for Business is an enterprise-ready, unified communications platform, intended as a community-building tool. Skype for Business is built to fully integrate with Microsoft Office and is tied to your GSB Exchange email account. This tool can help you see your contacts’ availability; send an IM; start or join an audio, video, or web conference; or make a phone call—all through a consistent, familiar interface that will help ease communication with your classmates.
To install and setup Skype for Business on Mac
- Quit (Command + Q) all Microsoft Office related programs
- Download Skype for Business and install by following on screen instructions
- Once installation is complete, Launch Skype for Business and login using:
CBS sign-in address - [email protected] (ex. [email protected])*
Username - [email protected] (ex. [email protected])*
Password - UNI password
*Please note: The syntax you input into the "CBS sign-in address" and "Username" (ex., [email protected]) is not a valid email address. Students need to use "[email protected]" as the username because Microsoft requires you to specify a domain (@gsb.columbia.edu) after your username for access to their services.
