Lulu Wang is founder and chief executive officer of Tupelo Capital Management, LLC, a New York based investment firm. Ms. Wang had been a director and executive president of Jennison Associates Capital Corporation for 10 years before founding Tupelo Capital Management in 1998.
While at Jennison, she managed assets for pension, endowment and mutual funds. Ms. Wang joined Jennison Associates in 1988 from Equitable Capital Management, where she held the title of senior vice president and managing director. She had been with Equitable since 1978, and prior to that had been affiliated with Bankers Trust and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.
Ms. Wang received her BA from Wellesley College and subsequently earned an MBA from Columbia Business School.
Ms. Wang is on the boards of Columbia Business School, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Rockefeller University, Asia Society, formerly of MetLife, and is a trustee emerita of Wellesley College and of NY Public Radio. She is the President of Shoreland Foundation and a member of the Advisory Council of Bank of America/US Trust. Her professional as well as nonprofit work have been honored by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Rockefeller University, Asia Society, the China Institute, Columbia Women In Business, Girls Inc., the N.Y. Women’s Agenda, Ernst & Young, American Women’s Economic Development and Wellesley College, for which she was the Commencement speaker in 2017.
Ms. Wang is married to Anthony Wang and in their free time, they collect vintage race cars and American furniture and art.
