In addition to classes covering business and strategy with Columbia Business School’s world-class professors, participating entrepreneurs undertake two capstone projects. In the '23-24 cohort of the program, the first project consisted of a Business Growth Plan, in which companies worked with MBA student consultants to develop a strategic framework for growth and expansion. This was followed by a Process Improvement project, which challenged companies to identify inefficient internal processes under the guidance of a faculty advisor. Working on these projects exposes leaders to the measurable impact of process improvement methodologies and helps to embed a company culture of continuous improvement.
In addition to the capstone projects, participants take core classes offered by Columbia Business School as part of the rigorous MBA curriculum. Classes are taught by the Columbia Business School faculty with occasional guest lectures by faculty from other universities.
- In Module I of the '23-24 program, classes focused on business growth and strategy, also covering leadership, innovation, and technology
- In Module III, classes focused on operations, strategy, process improvement, and marketing
- In Module V, classes focused on governance and change implementation
- The online Modules II and IV built upon the foundation laid during the in-person modules and featured in-depth classes on relevant subjects
All project work is completed in company teams, consisting of 2-3 top decision-makers in the company. Participants can expect to devote 5 hours per week throughout the program to the online sessions, advisory sessions, and project work.
