Since 2014, this conference has attracted a vibrant group of professors, industry leaders, and PhD students working on cutting-edge AI/ML models and data in inter-disciplinary fields and serves as an intellectual bridge for AI/ML researchers across computer science, economics, statistics, marketing, management, finance, strategy, IS, healthcare, education, and public policy, among others.

Over five billion people worldwide actively engage with AI/ML, Metaverse, bots, machine-to-machine connected solutions, 5G, AR/VR, cryptocurrency, and blockchain. Join us to explore how digital, social, and mobile technologies affect business models, customer behavior, management strategies, public policy, and social changes at large.

Conference History
This annual conference was hosted at the University of Chicago Booth in 2014, NYU Stern in 2015 and 2017, Stanford Graduate School of Business in 2016, Carnegie Mellon University Tepper in 2018, Temple University Fox in 2019 and 2023, virtually on Zoom in 2020 and 2021, (Harvard Business School in 2022, and Yale School of Management in 2024 associated with hyperlinks to previous year conf.

Malek Ben Sliman headshot photo

Malek Ben Sliman

Malek Ben Sliman is a Lecturer in Discipline at Columbia Business School in the Marketing Department. Malek’s research interests lie in the application of machine learning, computer vision and NLP tools in the context of art valuation, social networks, marketing analytics and online retailing. As a practitioner, he had previously worked at Sotheby’s where he built models to track the evolution of artists’ prestige over time and to automatically predict the price of art during auctions. More recently, Malek has been part of the data science team at Oden Technologies, an Industry 4.0 start-up focused on enabling analytics for manufacturers.

Malek received an M.S. in Industrial Engineering from Ecole Centrale Paris (France), an M.S. in Operations Research from the IEOR Department at Columbia, and a Ph.D. in Marketing from Columbia Business School.

Xueming Luo

Xueming Luo is the Charles Gilliland Distinguished Chair Professor of Marketing, Professor of Strategy and MIS, and Founder/ Director of the Global Institute for Artificial Intelligence & Business Analytics (formerly known as Global Center for Big Data and Mobile Analytics) in the Fox School of Business at Temple University. His research focuses on integrating artificial intelligence, 5G/AR/VR business applications, big data machine learning, and field experiments to model, explain, and optimize customer behaviors, company strategies, and platform economy.

Kinshuk Jerath

Kinshuk Jerath is the Arthur F. Burns Chair of Free and Competitive Enterprise, Professor of Business in the Marketing division at Columbia Business School. He is also the Chair of the Marketing Division. His research is in technology-enabled marketing, primarily in online advertising, online and offline retailing, sales force management and customer management. His research has appeared in top-tier marketing and operations management journals, such as Marketing Science, Journal of Marketing Research, Management Science and Operations Research. He is an Associate Editor at Journal of Marketing Research, Management Science, Quantitative Marketing and Economics, and Journal of Retailing, a Senior Editor at Production and Operations Management, and serves on the editorial boards of several other top-tier journals including Marketing Science. He has been nominated by the Marketing Science Institute (MSI) as a Young Scholar in 2013 and as a Scholar in 2018, and has received research award grants from Amazon, Google, Adobe and other companies and institutes, including MSI. At Columbia Business School, Professor Jerath teaches courses on Digital Marketing, Frontiers of Retailing and Customer Management. He has consulted for Fortune 500 companies, has served as an expert in several high-profile legal cases, and sits on the advisory boards of multiple startups. He received a B.Tech. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and a Ph.D. degree in Operations and Information Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to being at Columbia, he was on the faculty of the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University.
