Change of Academic Status
Your financial aid eligibility is based on full-time academic status and enrollment that spans the full semester. In the event that your status changes as a result of a leave of absence, withdrawal, dropping below full-time status (12 credits) or not having enrollment that spans the entire semester, you must notify the Financial Aid Office. Your federal loan eligibility is based on maintaining at least half-time status (6 credits required for degree completion). If you drop below half-time status for any reason, you must notify the Financial Aid Office.
Dropping credits or withdrawing from the University may result in a tuition and/or fee obligation. The University may withhold registration, official transcripts, and future financial aid until full payment has been received. If you withdraw, some or all of the aid you received may have to be repaid. The Financial Aid Office will review your eligibility and inform you of your options so please make sure to stay in touch with us regarding any changes to your schedule.
Stretches and impact on tuition, fees, and financial aid
Stretches can only be approved by the student's program office (academic affairs). Students on an approved stretch may not be eligible to borrow loans for living expenses in their stretch semester(s). Determinations will be made on a case-by-case basis and subject to their enrollment plan and all other eligibility requirements for the types of loans they borrow. Students planning on a stretch should schedule a meeting with Financial Aid in the semester before their penultimate semester bidding concludes to understand their options.
Students are required to pay tuition and fees for each semester they enroll. This requires 4 full semesters of tuition and fees paid for the August and January entering full-time MBA program and two-three-or four semesters of enrollment for MS program students (charged as a flat rate). Students approved to stretch are charged a nominal maintaining matriculation fee for each additional semester of enrollment. Scholarships and fellowships are not available in the extra semesters of enrollment. EMBA students that stretch past their intended graduation date by more than one semester are subject to the per-credit rate for the current year's entering cohort.
