Full-time or residential students are required to have adequate medical insurance coverage for off-campus services such as hospitalization. You are automatically enrolled in the Columbia Student Medical Insurance Platinum Plan. If you have adequate insurance coverage outside of Columbia, you may request a waiver by showing proof of coverage. You may also add a dependent to be covered. International students are required to enroll in the Columbia insurance plan and may not waive.
The fall insurance charge covers students from August 15th-December 31st to provide 12 months of required coverage. The spring insurance charge covers students from January 1st-August 14th. If you attend in the spring semester and are enrolled in the Columbia Insurance Plan, you will be required to pay for the full spring insurance charge. Students may not waive this charge or receive a prorated rate due to graduation or non-enrollment during the summer semester.

Health Service Fee
2026-2027 Rate: $759 per term
If you are a full-time or residential student, you are automatically enrolled in the Columbia Health Program, providing extensive on-campus services and support, for which you will be charged the Columbia Health Program Fee. This is a mandatory university fee regardless of your medical insurance provider. Students that are less then full-time utilizing Columbia insurance are charged the full health service fee. Students that are less then full-time NOT utilizing Columbia insurance are charged a prorated health service fee depending on the number of credits.
University Services and Support Fee
2026-2027 Rate: $645 per term
Students registered on the Manhattanville campus will be charged a University Services and Support Fee each term. This mandatory fee provides access to the facilities at the Dodge Physical Fitness Center (except for students in Executive Programs) and Lerner Hall, and supports enhancements for the libraries and computer networks.
International Service Charge (ISSO Fee)
2026-2027 Rate: $175 per term
Students holding a non-resident visa will be charged an International Services Charge each term. This fee supports the University’s services to international students. For more information, please contact the International Students & Scholars Office (ISSO). The ISSO fee increases each summer.
Late Payment Fee
Cost: $150 initial charge and then 1.5% additional on remaining balance each month thereafter
Students will be subject to late payment charges if payment for the term is not received by the due date listed on the Student Account Statement. Additional charges resulting from any program changes made after the first Statement of the term is issued must be paid at the time of the change. A one-time per-term late payment charge will be imposed if full payment less any anticipated credits is not received by the first payment due date for the term. An additional charge per billing cycle will be imposed on any amount past due thereafter.
Document Fee
All first-time registrants are charged a one-time document fee of $105, which thereafter allows them to order transcripts and enrollment and degree certifications, and to receive the mailing of the original diploma at no additional charge.
Program Fee

MBA Rate: $1,935 per term
MBAxMS Rate: $1,061 per term
MS Rate: $1,449 per term
A mandatory fee for students covering the costs of mandatory orientation programming and materials distributed throughout the program such as iPad, case materials etc.
Matriculation Fee
Fee of $200 for maintaining matriculation beyond the total term length.
Third Party Administration Billing Fee
Effective Spring 2026, an administrative fee of $250 will be applied each semester when a sponsor does not use the invoicing vendor, Flywire Corporation’s platform, as required. This fee will be assessed to the sponsored student’s account per semester when utilizing the sponsored billing services.
Students are responsible for the timely payment of this fee and any resulting balance if the sponsor does not pay it.
The University may, in its sole discretion, waive this fee for sponsors; any waiver will not constitute a continuing waiver or a change to this policy. For further information visit the Student Financial Services website.
