Spring 2024 Global Immersion: Business and Entrepreneurship in Tunisia
This year this class will be offered in Spring 2024 with travel preceding the A term class meetings. This creates a unique timing and onboarding process for students. Please read the below carefully and reach out with questions.
Timing
- Travel will take place to Tunis January 14-20, 2024
- A predeparture meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 during club time to prepare students for the course and travels; its imperative that students attend.
- During the first week of January students should have access to email and internet to sign up for their projects in advance of the travel period.
- The add/drop deadline for this class is December 15, 2023; that's the last date to drop and have your program fee returned to you.
- This class will include a team project. Students will be able to access project descriptions and rank their preferences during the first week of January. Students should have access to their email and internet during that time so they can share their preferences.
Visas
- Citizens of the US, UK, Europe and many other countries may travel to Tunisia without securing a visa. The list of countries can be found here. We're told that China may now also travel without a visa; while that may not appear here yet, we're getting that in writing from the Consulate.
For those that do need a visa; we can assist with the application process but the timing will be as follows
- By December 5th students will need all the required materials to Chazen: the form, money order, scan of passport and US visa, photo; everything they require other than the physical passport. We will mail this down in one batch with a letter from the School to the Embassy
- They anticipate they can have these approved in 2-3 weeks - which is very quick for them
- Once they are approved students will have to get their passports to the Tunisian Embassy in Washington, DC either by mail or in person. They anticipate that they don't need to keep it, but just to stamp the visa into the passport. The date range for this is expected to be December 20-January 12.
- Students who need a visa should not join the class during after December 5th; we won't be able to facilitate a visa to be approved in time after this first batch goes down.
