Form Instructions
The Graduate PLUS Credit Authorization Form should only be completed if you intend to borrow the Graduate PLUS Loan. Eligible students may request a Graduate PLUS Loan at any time during the academic year. However, these loans cannot be borrowed for an academic year that has already ended. Credit approval is required in order to borrow a Graduate PLUS Loan, and a credit check will be conducted by the US Department of Education.
Please complete the form requesting the loan amount you wish to borrow, keeping in mind that an origination fee will be deducted from the amount requested. For new loans disbursed on or after October 1, 2020, the origination fee will be 4.228%. For example, a loan requested for $10,000 will result in a total net disbursement of $9,578. You may include the origination fee in your loan request amount. Please note that loans require 2 to 3 weeks processing time, after we have received your credit authorization form.
