- Inception of the Family Business Club: Initiated by students under Michael Preston’s guidance, now boasting over 200 members.
- Global Immersion Programs in Austria and Chile: Michael Preston leads two Chazen Institute-run programs, focusing on family-owned businesses and CBS alumni enterprises.
2012
- Jack Mitchell as Executive-in-Residence: The Chairman of Mitchell’s Stores becomes the first Family Business Executive-in-Residence.
2013
- Launch of Family Enterprise and Wealth Elective: Professor Patricia Angus introduces this course, enriching over 450 students’ understanding of family enterprises.
- Publication of Pritzker Family Enterprise Case Study: Patricia Angus’s work becomes a pioneering business school case on family governance, now accompanied by additional case studies on family enterprises.
2014
- First Annual Family Business Conference: Kicking off a series of conferences addressing key themes such as transition, entrepreneurship, and next-generation roles in family businesses.
2015
- Appointment of New Co-Directors: Daniel Wolfenzon, Stefan H. Robock Professor of Finance and Economics, and Patricia Angus, Adjunct Professor of Business, join Michael Preston, enhancing the leadership team of the Family Business Program.
