By capturing student ideas on a whiteboard/chalkboard, you are allowing them to co-create answers and thereby deepen their learning.
Make learning visible
- Develop calculations on board or in Excel.
- Leave blanks in the PowerPoint to write in answers.
- Hand out exercises with and without solutions.
- Co-create solutions with students.
- Draw out charts/graphs when possible
Ask for student participation
- Allow students to drive the Excel models/calculations.
- Ask students to complete the board exercise.
Capture student comments
- Capture student comments on the board so they feel heard.
Create a map
- Capture student comments as they come in by writing them on the board so they naturally build towards the framework you are trying to create.
