About the Inclusive Entrepreneurship Initiative
The Inclusive Entrepreneurship Initiative creates positive social and economic impact in local communities by
- creating a model for collaboration between local community and business leaders with academic institutions — in this case, providing opportunities for Columbia Business School’s students, faculty, administrators, and alumni to work with local stakeholders on projects that produce lasting economic benefits for the local West Harlem neighborhood;
- leveraging the School’s strengths — its intellectual capital and convening capacity — to enhance access to resources, networks, and mentorship critical for local venture founders and other supporting ecosystem members; and
- developing thought leadership on how the tools of entrepreneurship — venture financing and startup scaling — can generate novel solutions to address social and economic challenges faced by members of marginalized communities.
