The Tamer Institute for Social Enterprise and Climate Change is looking forward to hosting a week of programming for the Business School community during Climate Week NYC 2024. We're partnering with peer clubs at CBS and schools across campus to promote climate impact across various industries.

Local Food Founder Journeys: Building a More Sustainable and Equitable Food System

As sustainable food labels have proliferated, everyday consumers have faced challenges in making informed choices about the environmental impact of their products. This session brings together NYC-based leaders who have built businesses across varying stages of the food supply chain to discuss their framework for building a more sustainable and equitable food system. These insights will help clarify how new food founders should plan for, measure, and communicate the positive environmental benefits of their products.

The energy transition relies on the rapid deployment of clean energy infrastructure and availability of critical minerals, with the policy landscape in the US and abroad increasingly focused on supply security. In parallel, the chemicals industry is pivotal in mitigating product-level emissions by closing the loop on plastics packaging. This panel will explore the dual opportunities in the adoption of circular business models, as well as delve into challenges faced by two major global heavy industry companies in conversation with one of the leading nonprofits focused on the circular economy.
