Sam is a master's in public administration (MPA) candidate at the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), majoring in energy, environment, and sustainability. As a fellow, Sam worked closely with the Global Sustainable Finance team, where he helped develop strategic thought leadership materials for Morgan Stanley’s Institute for Sustainable Investing. Sam was also involved with several projects pertaining to Morgan Stanley’s Plastic Waste Resolution, a company-wide initiative that aims to prevent, reduce, and remove 50 million metric tons of plastic waste from the environment.
Sam previously worked for with the Swire Group where he was a member of John Swire & Son’s General Management program that develops future business leaders in Asia-Pacific. During this period, Sam worked in a number of commercial, supply chain, and sustainability roles for the Swire Group’s Coca-Cola franchise in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the United States.
Prior to pursuing his graduate degree at Columbia University, Sam worked in Indonesia for a social impact incubator established by SecondMuse, an organization that supports local entrepreneurs addressing the plastic waste problem in South and Southeast Asia. Sam received his undergraduate degree from the University of Cambridge, where he majored in Chinese studies.
