Wineeta is a dual degree student at the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) and Columbia Business School. As a fellow, Wineeta worked on Morgan Stanley Investment Management’s Sustainability team, where she helped inform stewardship and engagement priorities regarding climate change and the circular economy. She also supported Morgan Stanley’s alternative investment partners (AIP) private markets team in advancing their ESG integration efforts. She developed an ESG procedural manual to streamline and formalize the team’s ESG approach and worked with the investment team to identify areas for greater consistency across geographies. The fellowship enabled Wineeta to gain exposure to how Morgan Stanley embeds sustainability across its various business units, and deepened her understanding of how capital markets can drive sustainability around the world.
Prior to attending Columbia University, Wineeta was an analyst in the social impact and public sector practice at Boston Consulting Group, where she worked on large-scale transformation projects aimed at excellence in public service delivery across education and primary health care. She has also worked as a graduate intern in the private markets investment team at Align Impact, where she evaluated limited partner investment opportunities in PE and VC funds and general partner investment opportunities in fintech and edtech across emerging and developed markets. She also developed investment landscapes for education, climate change, and gender-lens investing markets.
Wineeta is the co-president of Microlumbia, Columbia Business School’s early-stage impact investing fund, which aims to promote economic development through financial inclusion. Wineeta firmly believes in giving back to the community and is actively involved in Hermes Society, community building at South Asian Business Association and is a past Nonprofit Board Leadership Program participant. She is also a participant at United Nation’s Youth Plenary and ECOSOC Youth Forum 2020–21. She earned a bachelor's in business administration with a focus on financial and investment analysis from Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (SSCBS) at University of Delhi, and was awarded the university-level gold medal for academic excellence.
