Kent is pursuing an MS in sustainability management at Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies. As a fellow, Kent worked in Morgan Stanley Investment Management’s private credit and equity (PC&E) division. Kent developed a benchmarking assessment comparing PC&E’s ESG integration across the investment lifecycle to its peer competitors, studied correlations between ESG metrics and financial performance across PC&E, and generated an investment sector thesis on the ruminant methane reduction market for 1GT, PC&E’s climate impact fund. His efforts positioned PC&E to strengthen its ESG visibility in an asset class that is notoriously opaque. Kent’s findings also provided PC&E with actionable insights relating to potential ESG metrics to prioritize tracking moving forward.
Prior to his time at Columbia, Kent worked as an investment banking M&A analyst at Lakeside Partners, where he focused on the consumer and retail industry. He also played basketball professionally for three years in Portugal, Canada, Iceland, and Kazakhstan.
At Columbia, Kent is a member of the Columbia Sustainable Finance Professionals Network, the Columbia University Biodiversity Club, and Environmental Entrepreneurs. Kent holds a BA in economics from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota.
