What is the social or environmental issue being addressed?
Many older buildings have steam heating systems, which waste 30% of the heat they produce through overheating. Additionally, most tenants do not have the ability to control the temperature in their individual apartments. In New York City alone this represents approximately $2 billion in residential fuel wasted each year.
Innovation:
Kelvin eliminates the $7B overheating waste in steam-heated buildings, all while granting temperature control to tenants for the first time in the history of steam heat.
