What is the social or environmental issue being addressed?
New Neighbors Partnership puts in place long-term, community support for newly arrived families who typically receive only three months of resettlement support or less. By setting up a clothing partnership network, we keep clothes out of landfills by giving them a meaningful second life.
Innovation:
New Neighbors Partnership reimagines in-kind donations by setting up a network in which clothes go directly from families that have clothes to the families that need them. Our model turns what is usually a one-time blind donation into a long-standing relationship between families who may not have otherwise crossed paths. This cuts out the need for time consuming, inefficient clothing drives that only provide a short-term solution for families that need kids clothes.
